HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

In 2023 our city will celebrate the Winston-Salem Holiday Parade on Saturday, December 2, at 4:00 pm.

Per our friends from the WS Jaycees, who ran the parade for many years.

"Twas time for the holiday parade, and all through the city,
shiny new floats were ready, shimmering and pretty.

The Winston-Salem Jaycees have planned the event with great care,
In hopes that every one of you will choose to be there.

Young dancers were nestled all snug in their beds,

Unable to sleep, rehearsing the new routine over and over in their heads.

Boy Scouts ironed their uniforms, young musicians shined their instruments,
while local businesses and non-profits admired their floats with great contentment.

The next day, out on 4th Street there arose such a clatter,

Everyone gathered downtown to see what was the matter.

The Jaycees organized the participants in a flash,

Down the parade route they began to dash.

Maybe this year we’ll again have falling snow
To add a touch of magic and tickle your nose.

We hope that you will want to join us and volunteer,

To bring to the city boundless holiday cheer."

We love you, Jaycees, and thank you for your MANY years of service to our city!

THE HISTORY

About the Parade

In 1990, a group of civic-minded young professionals who called themselves the Winston-Salem Jaycees joined forces with businesses and organizations throughout the city to bring Winston-Salem a parade filled with holiday cheer and glad tidings.

These young leaders aged 21-41 planned and promoted the parade while developing leadership skills and serving their community.

While the Jaycees have passed on the running and execution of the Parade this year to the Winston-Salem Ambassadors...

this year is no exception! This year’s project chair will be joined by a team of volunteers to help produce the parade.

We hope your business or organization will register to join us!

The Holiday Parade will be partnering with the City of Winston-Salem to bring you the Annual Tree Lighting ceremony directly following the parade at Corpening Plaza.
